Educators are always saying teens need to read more. However, we don't always give them time and easy access to high interest books. These books will be used for independent reading time in my classroom. These books will be available for my students to borrow anytime they wish from my classroom. Everyday I encourage and give time for students to read. This will allow easy access to a variety of books for my students to choose from. If I can put the right book into each of my students' hands, they will learn that reading can be an enjoyable exercise that will give them an opportunity to learn about a different culture, time, place, or that there are others like them with similar struggles ad celebrations.
