During my first year of teaching I have noticed two things. One is the students want to learn. And two is that they want to learn how they are able to learn the best. Number two is detrimental as their learning needs are the number one thing that needs to be met. There are a number of students in the classroom who have an abundance of energy which sometimes gets in the way of their learning. We often see these students very off task and we will often see them leaning back on one or two legs of their chair. While this is understandable to why they are doing this, this also poses a danger as it is easy for them to slip out of their chair or fall backwards. This not only is dangerous, it is also very distracting to everyone in the room. To combat this I have decided that I need to invest in some flexible seating options. The obstacle in my way is the price tag of the options out there. With your help I hope to be able to furnish our classroom with some seating options. In doing this I am predicting that we will see the learning of some of our most energetic students rise. Thank you for your consideration in helping me achieve this goal!
