I want my students to have the necessary tools to demonstrate their abilities. Sports like basketball and football receive tens of thousands of dollars in order to fund the necessary infrastructure, such as fields, hoops and pads. Unfortunately, esports receive no funding and students can only participate if their parents are able to afford luxury items such as game consoles. I want to provide the necessary equipment for students to participate in esports, whether they can afford to on their own or not. Esports gives my students one more positive reason to enjoy coming to school and it gives them something they can excel at, even if they don't play traditional sports.
