These frogs will give my students an opportunity to not only review an important biology unit but to experience true science. At times, getting through the lesson on human body systems is a tough task due to all the questions the students have as they connect their new knowledge to their every day experiences. I welcome these questions because they fuel the students's curiosity on the science behind everything we might experience. Our lessons on the human body systems are full of diagrams, pictures and videos, and touching the stomach of a frog will only make those images more vividly. As they dissect the frogs, future doctors sitting in my classroom will never forget how frogs have a similar digestive system to that of a human. Dissecting a frog will also help the student acquire skills that they will need in their college level classes. This are necessary skills they will need to use during their senior year of high school. The opportunity to dissects frogs will allow the students to make meaningful connections, review for their exams, and prepare for their college classes.
