I'm a gifted and talented teacher that teaches enrichment classes to all Kindergarten through 2nd grade students. In enrichment classes, I focus on creativity and encourage students to be original, flexible, elaborate, and fluid. I use a variety of picture books to "hook" my students for each lesson. Picture books provide an avenue to open conversations about illustrations, growth mindset, and creativity. During each lesson, students create, build, and test their creations and inventions. Students learn to use materials in a variety of ways and the importance of teamwork. Teamwork is an essential life skill which can be learned in the early grades.
