While I am currently teaching U.S History I'm dedicated to providing students with an all encompassing education. In my classroom kids do not only learn about history but also about the importance of civics, leadership, geography, global citizenship, community engagement, and environment appreciation. The book "I Am Malala" tells the story of how a Pakistani girl stood up for her rights against the Taliban. The book is a great example of how one person can influence others to take action. My goal is to teach my students that their voice -as small as it is- matters and that ideas are more powerful than weapons.
