Many of the students I work with come from homes where their basic needs are not met. I strive every day to provide an environment where students feel safe and loved. I try to maintain an environment which shows them that they and their education are valued. I show my students that coming to my classroom is important and that they deserve a calm and cozy environment to learn in. This rug will give our whole group meeting area more organization and make it feel more like a home. The squares will provide them with boundaries to know where to sit. It will give them safety because they will know where their space ends and a peer's space begins. The calming colors will help create a cozy and relaxing classroom atmosphere.
