My classroom library has leveled readers and picture books, but we do not have many non-fiction readers that relate directly to first grade science standards. My students LOVE learning about science, especially anything about the animal kingdom. They would be very excited to have accessible readers that they can look at during free reading time. They would also enjoy workbooks that they can work in during school and then take home to learn more about animals and share with their families. My students also love read alouds, so any engaging science books that I can share with them would be greatly appreciated.
