Each year it seems that more and more students have trouble managing their bodies. Whether it be dealing with emotions or physical movement, these wobble chairs can be one tool that helps them manage. The students who need movement or tactile tools to help them concentrate will be given that opportunity with these seats. These cushions are multipurpose and are able to move from the carpet when they have whole group instruction, to the tables that will host guided group work, and to their chairs when they have independent work. They are also small enough that they will not be a distraction or embarrassing for students to utilize. As students transition from 3rd to 4th grade their recess time reduces by 25 minutes, their instruction is more rigorous, and they are expected to produce more. These wobble cushions will help my 4th and 5th graders continue to move, strengthen their core muscles, and focus without distracting others. At this age when their bodies start to grow faster, this also allows them to sit more comfortably on the floor.
