Science should be something students can explore. Hands-on materials are essential to being able to explore science in the real world. My students really enjoy science when they are allowed to explore and discover things themselves. Project based learning provides a more concrete way of learning. SVES is an environmental science, stem, and green school so the materials would fit directly into our school environment and goals. The batteries will help replace the used batteries in our current supplies as well as the new supplies. Convection is a concept that is very difficult for students to understand without being able to see it. All the supplies are designed to enhance student learning.
