My students will use these items to work through coping skills with the use of hands-on strategies and tools. The materials will equip stations throughout the Wholeness Room. Some station examples are Art, Sensory, Library/Listening Center, Games, Movement, Tech, Games and Manipulatives. Each center provides a chance to learn Social Emotional skills that will help them to be able to handle and reflect on situations while calming their bodies. They will build Self-Management, Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making as we connect center experiences with CASEL Competencies. Through exploration with these materials, my students will have an outlet to express themselves, their emotions, and make conscious decision on how they interact. Student Wholeness Rooms are oases of calm where students may find support from a caring adult, engage in quiet reflection, and cultivate fundamental social, emotional, and academic skills necessary for success in the classroom and beyond. Adults also find this as a place of peace to refresh during breaks.
