The Sharks are looking to add a classroom set of ukuleles to our music room. With these ukuleles, our students can explore the world of music in a whole new way. During 3rd grade, students learn recorders, which helps them learn the required skills for playing other musical instruments when they get older. As 6th graders, our students have the opportunity to sign up for band and play the Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, or Trombone. We are looking for an instrument for students to study during the second half of 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade, in order to ease the transition into 6th grade band. The ukulele is a great introduction to the string family, as well as guitars and fretted instruments. With the use of ukuleles, students will learn basic skills needed for a future full of creativity, expression, and a love of music!
