Our students have endured multiple academic disruptions from the Covid-19 pandemic. The younger grades have struggled with building and maintaining reading skills due to a lack of continuous in-person learning. Flexible seating and a refreshed classroom library will allow students to maximize the classroom reading experience. I want students to feel excited about choosing books and utilizing reading skills. A varied selection of decodable text will be used in small group reading instruction. Beginning readers can apply phonics skills with books that are interesting and readable. I'm excited to offer my students new materials for both independent and small group reading. They will love having flexible seating options to use around the classroom and plenty of new books to enjoy.
