I am hoping to purchase filament for students to create seascapes of a mini fish tank with a 3-d printer. The seascapes will be made of Geometric solids. Students will compute the volume of water displaced by their seascapes and then the volume of water needed to fill the tank. How excited they'll be when their designs come to life and when they actually pour the water in to see whether their calculations were correct! For this project, students will not only learn about geometric solids, but also how to use a CAD program to make their design. Can't wait to see their faces when they realize what they can accomplish!

About my class
