Sometimes learning the alphabet is not as easy as The Jackson 5's song would suggest. I work with students with learning challenges at the kindergarten and first grade level. My students struggle with learning and retaining letter identification as well as learning the letter sounds. I use music, writing and teacher created materials daily in my classroom. But sometimes that is just not enough. I'm looking to beef up my small group activities with tactile manipulative like an interactive letter board, play dough alphabet presses and wikki stix to ensure that my lessons will hit all senses. And hopefully help my kids who gain the knowledge they need before going on to first and second grade. By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student knowledge, you will ultimately help to increase their early literacy skills.
