For a variety of reasons, many of my students arrive at school with no school supplies - not even a backpack or pencil in hand. And if they do have school supplies, often it was given to them by a teacher. This means that I am constantly handing out pencils and paper so that my students can complete their work; the worst days are when I run out of supplies, and a student cannot fully engage in class that day. The basic supplies on this list will go straight to them. You will also notice cleaning supplies and hygiene items. With nearly 100 students in and out of my classroom every day, it gets messy. Cleaning items will help keep things germ-free, while tissues and hand-sanitizer keeps students from getting sick.
