Our class needs furniture to allow students quick access to manipulatives and STEM supplies, especially during COVID restrictions, as they need to play with one bin per student. My students also need a fun way to build thier motor and cognitive skills, and what better way to do this than with Lego Duplo Bricks? I want my students to know that they can find and use STEM toys on their own. The best way to accomplish this is to store materials on low, open shelves. This allows children to see the materials available, choose, and return the item without adult support. It helps make them independent and lessens distraction in the classroom.
