Flexible seating in the classroom promotes active learning and allows students to engage in tasks while providing sensory input. Flexible seating helps students maintain focus and attention. It also promotes creativity, opportunities for collaboration, and allowing their bodies to move while listening, working independently, and actively engaging in lessons. I can see how effective flexible seating is in a classroom. I have purchased 3 wobble stools with my personal money. We rotate these stools daily among 25 students. I observe daily how effective flexible seating is in the classroom in my students' ability to maintain focus, work collaboratively, and "wobble" while engaging in lessons. I can't wait to have more flexible seating options in the classroom to optimize student learning.
