We are concentrating heavily on TDAs (text-dependent analysis) during fourth grade. A document camera will be extremely useful for modeling a TDA to the whole class. A document camera can also be useful in teaching grammar and whole group instruction in many other areas. Novel studies, novel studies, novel studies! Most of the materials in this grant will be used to help students dive deeper into different novels in a small group setting. My students love small group reading, and reading novels together creates discussions that they may not have had the opportunity to have without this time or these resources! Finally, classrooms are always in need of supplies like pencils and glue, and it is amazing how quickly we go through them! I have also included bouncy bands to be put on the desks of students who have trouble sitting still and concentrating!
