This induction heater will allow our Automotive and Collision students to move away from the use of open flame when heating a part for disassembly. Because we repair vehicles form our community, and the vehicles tend to be very rusty, we are constantly needing to heat items to take them apart. The use of open flame is inherently dangerous for even the most experienced technician. With this new technology we can instruct our students how to safely heat up a part for disassembly even in close proximity to a gas tank. The induction heater will allow the automotive technology and collision departments, 155 students, to work more efficiently and safely. The gloves will protect the hands of the students and teachers as we repair vehicles from the residents of Worcester.
