This year our school is adding a piece to our teaching dealing with Social Emotional Learning. We will strive to get children to understand and handle situations that turn up in everyday situations, at school and at home. If we can reach the child from the inside and help them deal with personal struggles, then the academics should be easier for them and us. This set of books is so pertinent to what children go through daily in school and possibly at home. In some of our trainings, I wondered how much better my life may have been if I had been taught coping skills as a child. With these delightful colored books, teaching them over and over, I hope to get students to learn to feel more in control and confident within themselves. The series is great because children can connect when seeing the star NINJA in each situation and they can choose what relates to them. I do think all of them are helpful though.
