I have been searching for sensory tools that will help keep students who struggle with attention problems on task. This project's focus will be for my visual learners who have very short attention spans. Students who struggle with Autism are often visual learners. They need tools to help them manage their time and attention to what they are expected to learn in their learning environments. In addition, many of my students struggle with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). A person with ADHD has differences in brain development and brain activity that affect attention, the ability to sit still, and self-control. These students travel to multiple learning environments throughout their school day. In each classroom environment there are distractions that take away from learning. My students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder need a visual support to help them stay on task and keep learning fun. I am very glad to have run across a product to meet the needs of my students. The Learning Resources "Time Tracker Visual Timer & Clock" should meet their unique needs. The colors used with these timers and clocks fulfill a two-fold function: purposefulness and fun. My students will have a tool to help them stay on task while enjoying learning. This tool should not be a distraction to the learning environment.
