Every lesson taught in my classroom is geared toward a reading skill that is modeled by me then transferred to their own reading life. Students read to learn and build stamina. They also sit in desks most of the day. Movement helps students to focus. Students will use the stools and chairs during independent reading time. I want to give students a cozy place to read to allow movement which in turn will help students focus on their reading as they comprehend the text, use the reading skills taught in class and build the stamina which can be applied to other areas on life.
