Currently I have 15 ukuleles in my classroom, but my classes contain 24 to 30 kids each, so students share ukuleles in groups of two and sometimes three. Having enough instruments is essential because it allows each student to have the opportunity to learn. When students have to share they become easily frustrated because they don't feel like they are making progress. Ukuleles would not only allow my students to learn musical concepts and learn mastery of an instrument, but also build their self esteem as they take risks, try new things, and learn they can rise to any challenge! For some kids, music is the thing that gives them a reason to come to school. Please help me give my students ukuleles.
