Very few classroom activities capture the attention of my students as thoroughly as robotics lessons. Every time we incorporate robotics into our standards, engineering suddenly becomes more exciting and less intimidating for our new students. VEX Robotics equipment including the RobotC software enables students to learn coding based on the C++ program. By adding the products on the materials list, students will be able to build more complex robots and learn more about drive trains, gear ratios, and coding. It also furthers their interests in careers such as computer hardware engineering and computer programming. Overall, this project will boost the number of students interested in seeking STEM related careers.
