In 2017, our music program was moved to school stage in order to make room for the rapidly growing enrollment in our school. During that transition, it was discovered that the stage floor was in very poor condition leading to splinters, etc. Attempts were made to remedy the situation including the purchase of smaller rugs, However, the school enrollment grew and the smaller carpets were no longer helpful, leaving children sitting on the floor in a very still manner to avoid splinters. The music program then purchased foam mats in an effort to give the students some sort of barrier from the rugged floor. However, within a short time, the mats began to break apart, causing students to fall onto the damaged floor. We would like to have a more permanent, safe and less distracting place for our students to assemble and learn while keeping the room accessible for movement exercises. I am requesting a larger, commercial grade rug for the classroom. This will allow every child in the class the freedom to move and sit safely. Thank you for your consideration!
