After being a Life Skills/Autistic Support teacher for 34 years, and still loving it, I have realized that my classroom needs some updates. The rocking cushions, and bookshelf will allow students to have a comfortable reading center area. The rocking cushions we have now have seen better days as they are falling apart. The children with autism enjoy these chairs as they provide vestibular sensory input. They are one of the most used items in our classroom. By donating to our classroom, you will not only help us to create a newer and updated environment, but you will provide a safer environment for our reading center. We are also in need of some basic updated school supplies like binders and folders. These items will assist us in learning better organizational skills. We will use the office chair with wheels as a place where students can read to other students modeling after the teacher in their "teacher chair". We hope you will find it in your heart to donate to our life skills/ support room as we continue to make needed updates.
