The A-Z rug is a great tool for a variety of educational skills in Kindergarten. The students have another type of kinesthetic learning the ABC's. They can use movement & games with the rug in learning the alphabet. Also, learning spatial awareness when sitting with a group, each letter gives them the space/area as to where to sit. Being able to identify a space with a letter gives another aspect of learning one to one correspondence. The alphabet rug gives animals shaped in the letter, which gives the beginning sound of the letter. The rug reinforces sounds and letter names.
