I plan to use the leveled readers to pull groups of students for guided reading lessons. Since we are a Title 1, low-income school, we do not have many resources in the classroom. I hope to change this and took it upon myself to set up a reading program where students can take home books. These books would be on their level and parents would have access to materials to facilitate comprehension and phonemic awareness. My students are significantly below grade-level and my goal is to help them grow as much as possible. Reading is freedom and no one needs it more than these fantastic 2nd graders. Thank you for reading. With your help, we can change the outlook of many lives.
