As a first year teacher I have been given an empty classroom and my goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment for every individual that walks through my door. By having an organized classroom it will help my student stay focus and meet their educational goals on a daily basis. Book shelves will be filled and organized with classroom supplies and materials that are essential to learning. Tables will help enhance group discussions during each small group activity. They will also play a key role in student learning throughout each subject they are presented to throughout the day. File organizers will help me keep each students records in a safe and organized place. They will also play a key role in organizing each daily activity that we go through. I plan to create a calm and organized reading nook that will allow my students to take a break throughout the day and relax. Pillows and an exercise ball will provide students with an variety of options to relax and gather their thoughts in this reading nook.
