We want to create a legacy food garden for high school students that will provide a space for students of wildly different backgrounds and interests to explore food production while having a connection with nature. Materials that we would love to have are a clean rain barrel, irrigation lines, gardening tools we can keep on campus, and other general gardening supplies. While we live in a college town with so many resources that could go towards planning plots, getting the weirdest seeds, and volunteers, there is little help in terms of getting the infrastructure we need. With these funds, we could get the materials that we need that are difficult to find or to have donated to us.
