We are exploring a unit in the IB curriculum: “How The World Works”. We will be discovering why and how different variables effect the outcome of an event. This unit involves forces and motion to include balanced and unbalanced forces. The children will be exposed to a hands on experiment. In using manipulatives, such as in this lab, our students will be able to better understand Newton’s laws of physics. The unseen influence of friction, gravity and opposed and unopposed force will be investigated. We will also be able to incorporate cross curriculum with ELA and SS by investigating how simple machines have influenced history.
