I believe it is important for the students to understand what is going on in the world around them. Especially as a history teacher is provides a unique opportunity to show the students how the past is affects us today. A scholastic news subscription will allow my students a different medium to explore the news. Student can interact with the material in different ways and use all different resources to examine the world around them. I will use this subscription as an instructional aid for the students so have a hands-on experience with the news instead of just watching it. With the subscription they can dissect the world around them and add meaning.
