Having students on the same playing field with technology doesn't make others feel left out. Students will be calculating logarithms and radicals in Algebra 2. When teaching logarithms, it is nice for all students to have the same type of calculator to learn how to input the information correctly. Some students do not have a calculator and have to borrow one of my older calculators. Students need a calculator for state assessments and if all students have the same, you know that no one is at a disadvantage or advantage. Students should be given the opportunity to succeed in math, by being given all the tools needed.
