One of the most exciting things to experience, in art, is learning the various printing methods. Silk screening is one of the most rewarding for students, especially when they can wear their creations or give them to others to wear. My students have designed their own original superhero logos, and will be learning how to make the designs into stencils used for screen printing. The last step, and often toughest step is acquiring t-shirts for all students to be able to silk screen their original art. Students often become hooked on it and will create more shirts than what is required. They create them to give as gifts or for a team that is participating in a school event. It is what art and education is all about, learning something new and sharing it with others.
