In our band hall, there sits a very old piano- a piano that is rarely used, if ever. To bring it back to life, it would need several hundred dollars worth of work. Future costs of additional tuning and maintenance for an instrument that must remain stationary, is not effective for the growth of our band. A Yamaha keyboard is a portable and highly durable instrument that will allow me to teach my students skills that will transfer to instruments widely used in society. By learning to play the keyboard, my students could play in a band or on a church piano, develop jingles for marketing companies, or even sound effects for movie productions. This instrument will open an array of future opportunities.
