It is incredibly important to have goalie equipment when playing floor hockey. First of all there is a safety aspect. Goalies are having pucks shot at them and the equipment fully protects their limbs and face. Having a goalie with equipment enhances the game for everyone. It makes it more challenging to score goals which helps our students increase their shooting and passing skills. More importantly, the challenge of scoring a goal helps overall passion develop because of the excitement of playing the game in it's truest form. As a lifelong ice hockey player and coach of fourteen years, I can ensure anyone that having a goalie in full pads and shooting pucks at them is a tremendously fun experience. Add a competitive game to the mix and it really helps develop a love for the game by those who play it. My hope is that our students will want to play hockey outside of school which will have a lifelong impact on them.
