These STEAM materials will spark students' curiosity and creativity. There are various tools on our wish list that will give students opportunities to build different structures. They will be applying engineering skills all while fostering their creativity during STEAM team building time. These materials will give my students opportunities to explore and create. The marble run, specifically, will expose students to challenges and further develop problem solving techniques--both with the project and socially with their peers. Many of these STEAM materials come with instruction cards with models to inspire designs. This is a valuable resource for my students because it allows them the opportunity to follow multi-step instructions to recreate a design. On the other hand, they also have the freedom to create an original design! Students will be using these tools in small groups, which will help them to foster social skills in working together and listening to diverse ideas.
