With these whiteboards, my 26 writers will be able to engage in writing using a new medium. We often practice writing letters and words with pencil and paper, but I know how meaningful this experience would be for my emerging writers. The whiteboards will be used for practicing handwriting and engaging in whole class shared and interactive writing. By adding whiteboards to my classroom it will open my students’ outlook on what writing can be. Teaching a dual-language immersion (DLI) classroom I know how important it is for my students to have as many opportunities as possible to write and practice Spanish. Writing can be a challenge for any student, and I want my students who are learning Spanish to be comfortable with making mistakes, learning and growing from them. These whiteboards will contribute to that classroom culture.
