I'm building a unit constructed around the science fiction genre of literature and how creative and dynamic the genre can be. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a perfect example of how fun science fiction can be, while still providing a strong base for starting a conversation about the universe and our place within it. These novels will be used in conjunction with various short stories in an attempt to encapsulate all that the science fiction genre can be. Through Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, students will learn not to take this absurd universe we live in too seriously and understand that it's okay to be sad or depressed as long as we keep working towards happiness.
