Having options for students to choose during recess is very important. "Not only is recess important for a child’s academic performance, but it helps with behavior as well. Academic achievement and attentiveness are improved when children have the opportunity to participate in free-play at recess." -Jade D’Agostino and Kayla Illingworth Kick ball is a game that almost every grade level enjoys playing during recess. We have modified the rules to make them socially distant, and allowed the children to play. Students also enjoy playing Four Square with playground balls. The heavy usage of this equipment leads to wear and tear quickly, and equipment needing to be replaced often.
