Students get so excited when presented with the same old information in a new way! Escape rooms are an amazing way to increase engagement while practicing the same old information. They also encourage teamwork. I have been doing these escape rooms for two years. I use manila envelopes and paper keys but continuing to print these materials out take a lot of time and resources. If my students had actual lock boxes and keys they would be so excited and I wouldn't have to keep buying and creating all of the materials. Each lock box will contain a challenge that has to do with a Math or Science TEK. When a completes a challenge they get the key to the next lock box. When the students have all 5 keys or codes they unlock their box and get their prize.
