Play-based learning helps children build crucial social and emotional skills, fosters creativity and imagination, supports early language skills, and nurtures a joyful, safe classroom environment where experimentation and approximation are not only permitted, but celebrated. My students need building materials, train sets, dramatic play props, art supplies, puzzles, and toys for our play time. These supplies will allow us to create robust play centers and routines for play-based learning. Not only will play centers support pre-academic skills, but a play routine will make it possible for me to work with small groups on targeted skills while other children play independently.
