The materials we are requesting will enable us to collect, measure and properly dispose of recyclable materials. This will allow students in grades 6 to participate in our school wide sustainability project, and educate the rest of our PK - 8 students on the importance of recycling. Our charter school incorporates service learning projects into our curriculum, and a strong focus is on taking care of our Earth, making healthy food choices, and recycling. The recycling bins will be placed in every room in the school, and the students will collect, maintain and dispose of the recyclable materials within. This project will encompass all areas of interest while providing meaningful learning experiences. Students take pride in projects where they have full participation and are involved from start to finish while contributing to a our effort to create a sustainable school.
