In a kindergarten classroom, organization, structure and routine are imperative. With many different learning styles, my classroom needs to be clearly labeled and print rich. A lot of customization and personalization happens throughout the year from setting up the classroom materials, to organizing centers to creating grade level t-shirts for assemblies, field trips and grade level activities. Having a Cricut machine will save me a lot of time. In the past, I have spent numerous hours hand-crafting, drawing, and searching the web for graphics and visual models. As an K-inclusion teacher, the majority of my day is spent differentiating my instruction for both students with disabilities, as well as my typical students. Kindergarten is a a pinnacle year in a child's school experience and to have an organized and structured room, it can help to reduce anxiety and students can learn to be independent.
