The books that I have requested will be used in the classroom and at home to develop their reading skills. Many of our students come to 3rd grade with difficulties in fluency and comprehension. After the students read a book, they take a reading quiz on Accelerated Reader and receive points if they pass the quiz. Students receive prizes from me, the classroom teacher and our school also awards prizes based on their points earned. It is a win win for the kids! The excitement is contagious and they love to a new book title.
