Research shows that when students are given choice, they are more productive and engaged. Flexible seating is one of the many ways that we as teachers can provide choice. Students look forward to selecting their cozy, quiet place to work in the classroom. With the donation of the flexible seating chairs, students will be able to decide where it is that they are most comfortable working. The addition of the flexible seating chairs will make the environment more conducive to learning because students will be engaged and less likely to participate in off-task behavior. The students in my class have made great gains, and I believe it is impart because I have initiated flexible seating in the classroom this year. The contribution of these chairs will enhance this provision and contribute to more gains in reading and writing performance.
