The majority of my students are college-bound juniors and seniors. I teach English, and we read novels together and do individual and group projects. I would like to do a classroom makeover. I would love to re-design my room to give them a more diverse classroom atmosphere-with flexible seating, and a more modern feel. Students are used to sitting in desks/tables throughout their classes, but I would like to offer more of a variety in my classroom setup. I would like to have some high tables, as well as some comfy lounge-like chairs with laptop trays since every student is provided with a laptop. This environment will have different areas students can go to depending on the classroom activity on hand. It will offer unique spaces for students to work individually or in small groups. There will be a small lounge area as well, featuring a coffee station and toaster. Puzzles and books will be featured there as well to promote lifelong learning, as well as team-building and social skills. There will also be an air purifier and humidifier to give them the cleanest classroom environment I possibly can so that they are able to work at 100%. Motivational pictures will line the walls to complete this 21st century classroom.
