In the classroom this year my goal has been to provide my students the opportunity to see our world and choose what they want to be in this life. The two class sets I requested are meant to enrich learning for each student, especially in my largest class of 35. I am often short copies of books because my department shares texts and I want each student to have the opportunity to read and grapple with the gravity of the literature we read on a personal level. Nothing does that like having a book of your own during class, seeing the words for yourself, and interpreting the truths at your own pace. Through choice my hope is to give my students guidance in how to shape our world.
