I am the general music teacher at my school. Many parents of students ask if I teach private piano lessons. I simply do not have time to teach private lessons for all the kids who ask, and teach my full time position. Years ago, I held a piano class, where students learned together on numerous keyboards in the classroom. This was in a different district. We had 10 keyboards, which allowed 10-20 students to learn in a class format, with me as their teacher. Some of the students shared a keyboard during the class. I see this vision for my own school of F. Elementary in Arizona. I'm requesting 8 keyboards be purchased for our school. With this, 9 instructional books would be necessary (1 for me as the teacher). Having these keyboards would impact students' music potential year after year, offering many opportunities for them. Playing an instrument benefits a person on so many levels, cognitively, with self esteem, and many meaningful personal experiences. Thank you for taking time to read this!
